In connection with an amendment to Act No. 406/2000 Coll., on energy management, which is effective from 1 July 2015, the owner of a property being sold (this also applies to flats and houses) or a building being rented (houses, villas) is under a duty to hand over to the agent a notarised copy of the graphical part of the building’s energy performance certificate. From 1 January 2016 this duty will also apply to owners of flats for rental.
This amendment imposes on us the duty to always specify a building’s energy performance. In the event we do not have this information available, we are unfortunately under a duty under the law to state an energy performance of “G”, i.e. the worst possible option.
